Police on Saturday were searching for two men involved in a shooting that wounded two innocent bystanders, including a 10-year-old boy, who was critically injured as he sat in a car with his parents at a gas station in Long Beach, police said.
The shooting occurred around 8 p.m. Friday at the corner of Long Beach and Del Amo boulevards, said Nancy Pratt of the Long Beach Police Department.
The parents of the boy took him to a Long Beach police substation about a quarter-mile away and officers rushed him to a hospital, where he was in critical but stable condition, Pratt said.
The gunfire broke out among a group of males who were arguing near the shooting scene, Pratt said.
A man, who police believe may also have been a bystander, was also shot and took himself to a hospital, Pratt said. He had non-life-threatening injuries, officials said.
The suspects in the shooting remained at large, Pratt said.
Anyone with information was asked to call Long Beach police detectives at (562) 570-7250.
