A teenage girl who died after a fall from a cliff at Eaton Canyon was identified late Friday as 17-year-old Esther Yieng Suen, of Alhambra, according to the the Los Angeles County Coroner.

Three others were rescued Friday at the hiking area near Pasadena.

Rescue crews responded to a hiker in distress call Friday morning. Suen (pictured below) suffered a fatal head injury and died at the scene, according to the Los Angeles County Sheriff's Department.

A rescue crew in a helicopter flew at least one victim to a hospital. The victim was identified as an 18-year-old man who suffered a dislocated shoulder. He fell 200 feet.

Two other hikers also were rescued, according to the sheriff's department.

Witness Sora Chung said she spoke to one of the victims, who said the four were on a spring break high school project.

The 190-acre nature area is at the base of the San Gabriel Mountains north of Pasadena (map). The area has hiking and equestrian trails and a waterfall.

The park is the subject of a Los Angeles County Parks safety video that refers to the waterfall hike and shows video of previous rescues.

The County Parks Department also posted an alert regarding Eaton Canyon on its website. The alert involves rumors of a "so-called safe hike" to a second waterfall.
