A large power outage struck Thousand Oaks on a sweltering Saturday for the second time this week, knocking out power to more than 2,000 customers.
The outage was the largest of several scattered outages throughout Southern California, according to Southern California Edison, leaving thousands without power or air conditioning
Temperatures reached 97 degrees in Thousand Oaks on Saturday afternoon, and were in the triple digits elsewhere in the region.
The major Thousand Oaks outage began about 11:40 a.m., though 32 homes lost power about two hours earlier. The estimated time of restoration was not immediately known.
On Sunday, Sept. 1, nearly 5,000 customers in Thousand Oaks and surrounding communities lost power as temperatures approached 100 degrees.
