Police are looking to reunite more than 40 stolen bicycles with their rightful owners after the arrest of a man suspected of lifting them from carports around Santa Monica over the last eight months.
Detectives said they served a search warrant May 6 at their suspect’s home in Los Angeles and found the bicycles, which included more than two dozen brands.
Detectives are encouraging anyone who had their bike stolen in Santa Monica between October 2012 and May 2013 to visit the police department at 333 Olympic Drive (map). Viewing times will be between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. June 22 and June 29.
Anyone looking to claim one of the bikes must provide a copy of their police report or materials to help in the identification process.
