Now that it's officially summertime, safety officials are reminding revelers to take extra precautions when handling fireworks and encouraging them to attend public fireworks displays, instead of trying to create their own.

Only fireworks deemed "Safe and Sane" are allowed in 32 cities in Los Angeles County. To learn if your city is among those municipalities, click here. For more information on how to celebrate safely, visit SafeJuly4th.org

In Orange County, here are the following locations for July 4:

ANAHEIM:   Disneyland, 1313 S. Harbor Blvd. Discover 7 days of “Limited Time Magic” surprises planned for the entire Independence Week (July 1-7).  The Disneyland Resort fireworks spectacular will be held each night at 9:30 p.m. during Independence Week.  For information call (714) 781-4000.

ANAHEIM:    Peralta Canyon Park, 115 N. Pinney.  Come out on Wednesday, July 4th, with a 10K run at 6 a.m. and 5K run/2K walks at 7 a.m. at Canyon High School.  This will be followed by a Pancake Breakfast from 8 – 10:30 a.m. with the Yankee Doodle Dog Show at 10 a.m. at the high school.  A parade will start at 3 p.m. at Canyon High going down Santa Ana Canyon Road ending at Pinney. At the park, food and game booths will be in operation from 12:30 – 8:45 p.m. with entertainment from 3 – 8:50 p.m. A firework display will start at 9 p.m.  Free shuttle buses to and from Peralta Park will be available from the Anaheim Hills Crossroads Shopping Center from 5 – 10:30 p.m.

BUENA PARK: Knott’s Berry Farm, 8039 Beach Blvd.  Knott’s will have a firework display on the 4th of July.  For more information call (714) 827-1776.

CYPRESS, LOS ALAMITOS, ROSSMOOR, SEAL BEACH:   The Joint Forces Training Base Los Alamitos, 11200 Lexington Drive.  The 25th Annual 4th of July Fireworks Spectacular will be hosted by the cities of Cypress, Los Alamitos, and Seal Beach as well as the Rossmoor Community Services District and the Joint Forces Training Base.  Enter at Gate 4 on Lexington Drive south of Katella.  Gate opens at 4 p.m.  There will be a family fun zone, food court and vendor fair.  Lawn chairs and blankets are recommended since there will be no bleachers.  Fireworks begin at 9 p.m.  Due to heightened security, all adults over the age of 16 will be asked to provide a picture I.D.  All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult.  Admission is free; parking is $5.  Please do not bring motor homes, dogs, personal fireworks or alcohol.  For information call (714) 229-6700.

FULLERTON:   Fullerton High School Stadium, 700 N. Lemon.  The stadium, located at the corner of Lemon and Berkeley, will be the site of the 24th Annual Community Fireworks Show and Festival from 5 – 9:30 p.m. Admission is free.  A nominal fee will be charged for the children’s rides.  Games and food booths will be sponsored as fund-raisers by non-profit Fullerton organizations.   Fireworks set to music start at 9 p.m.  Parking will be free at the Plummer Parking Structure, the Wilshire Parking Structure, and the North Justice Center.  No glass containers, no smoking, no umbrellas and no pets.  Service dogs allowed.  Call the Fullerton Special Events Hotline at (714) 738-3167 or visit http://www.cityoffullerton.com/residents/community_events/4th_of_july.asp.  

HUNTINGTON BEACH:     A parade and fireworks show is the highlights of Huntington Beach's 108th Annual 4th of July Celebration, “Surf, Sun & Celebrate.”  Activities starting early on the 4th include the Kiwanis Pancake Breakfast at Lake Park and the Surf City 5K Run.  The 108th parade starts at 10 a.m. on PCH and goes up Main Street.  The Pier Festival at Pier Plaza will run July 4 – 7, from 10 a.m. to 9 p.m.  Fireworks will be shot from the end of the Huntington Beach Pier and will begin at dusk on the 4th.  VIP seats on the pier for the fireworks show cost $10 and are limited.   For complete information, visit the website at www.hb4thofjuly.org.

LA HABRA:   La Habra High School Stadium, 801 W. Highlander Avenue.  The stadium will be the location for the city’s annual 4th of July Celebration with games, food, and activities.  Admission includes seating for the fireworks.  Gates open at 5 p.m. with fireworks at 9:15 p.m.  Presale wristbands may be purchased at the Community Services Department, 101 West La Habra Blvd.  Call (562) 905-9708 for more information.

SEAL BEACH:  Old Ranch Country Club will have a private display.

Central Orange County

COSTA MESA:  There will be a private firework display at Mesa Verde Country Club.

EMERALD BAY:  A private firework display will be shot off from a barge.  

IRVINE:  Irvine High School, 4321 Walnut.  The Irvine Police Association’s 27th Annual Concert on the Green and Fireworks Festival will start at 3 p.m.  This year’s event will include field games and activities, bounce houses, and live music by the Derek Bordeaux Group.  Food will be available for purchase throughout the event or you may bring your own picnic.  At 9 p.m., there will be a sky concert and fireworks extravaganza.  No barbeques, dogs, bikes, rollerblades, skates or skateboards.  Admission on the 4th for adults (14 years and up) is $12.00.  Seniors (60+) and children 13 and under are $8.00.  Family tickets may be purchased in advance, which are good for 2 adults and up to 4 children, for $40.00.  For tickets and information, call (949) 724-0488.

IRVINE:   Verizon Wireless Amphitheater, 8808 Irvine Center Drive.  San Francisco-based Super Diamond interprets the addictive, feel-good chart toppers that have delighted generations — "Sweet Caroline," "Song Sung Blue," "America," "Heartlight" and more! Plus, patriotic favorites, a salute to the U.S. armed forces and a brilliant fireworks finale! IRVINE:   Woodbridge Village Association will have 4th of July activities and a private firework show.

LAGUNA BEACH:  A public show sponsored by the city will be shot from Monument Point at Heisler Park on Cliff Drive with the best viewing from Main Beach.  Bring a blanket and a picnic.  The show will start after dusk.

LAGUNA BEACH:   Three Arch Bay will have a private show shot from a barge.

LAGUNA BEACH:   Irvine Cove will sponsor a private fireworks display.  

NEWPORT BEACH:   Big Canyon Country Club will have a private show after dusk.

CITY OF ORANGE:   Fred Kelly Stadium at El Modena High School, 3920 Spring Street.  The 18th Annual 3rd of July celebration will be held on Wednesday, July 3rd, at 4 p.m.   The celebration includes live music, inflatable activities and a hometown carnival atmosphere.  There will be a patriotic musical performance by the Orange Community Master Chorale leading up to a spectacular fireworks show choreographed to music.  Only blanket seating is allowed on the field.  Ticket price is $7.00 (age 3 or older.  Tickets may be purchased from the Community Services Department, located at 230 E. SANTA ANA:   Santa Ana Country Club will host a private show.

TUSTIN:   Tustin High School Football Stadium, 1171 El Camino Real. The City of Tustin will hold a 4th of July celebration.  The event is free and starts at 6:30 p.m.  Tustin High School Boosters will be providing food. South Orange County

ALISO VIEJO:  Grand Park. The AVCA will hold a 4th of July Celebration starting at 6 p.m.  There will be live entertainment, a homemade apple pie baking contest, carnival games, complimentary bounce houses, and face painting.  There will be a low-level fireworks display choreographed to patriotic music at dusk.  Please leave pets at home.  For pre-recorded event information, call (949) 243-750 or go to http://www.avca.net/alisoviejo/picture/july_4th_flyer.pdf.

DANA POINT:   Dana Point Harbor area.  Fireworks begin at 9 p.m. and are shot from a barge outside of the harbor.  The fireworks are synchronized to music being simulcast on Radio Station 88.5 FM KSBR.  Bring your radio for the full experience.  The parking lots in the harbor and at Doheny State Beach fill up early.  Free shuttle service will be provided at Dana Hills High School, 33333 Street of the Golden Lantern, from 10 a.m. to 11:30 p.m.  No cars will be allowed into the harbor area after 7:30 p.m.  For information, call (949) 248-3530 or visit http://www.danapoint.org/index.aspx?page=68&recordid=6919.

DANA POINT:   St. Regis Monarch Beach Resort, One Monarch Beach Resort. LADERA RANCH:   Founders’ Park.  Ladera Ranch will be celebrating the 4th of July this year with the Freedom Run, a pancake breakfast starting at 7:45 a.m., a community parade at 10:30 a.m., followed by games, attractions, and food sales starting at 2:00 p.m.  The fireworks show starts after 9 p.m. at Founders Park.

LAGUNA HILLS:  The Community Center and Sports Complex, 25555 Alicia Parkway.   This year’s Annual Fourth of July Celebration opens at 4 p.m.  Carnival rides and games, live music, patriotic crafts, and face painting will be a part of the celebration.  This is a free event.  Food, drink, and ride tickets will be available for purchase.  Seating is not provided.  Bring your lawn chairs and pick out your spot early for the fireworks display which starts at 9:10 p.m.  Admission is free.  Call (949) 707-2680 for additional information.

LAGUNA NIGUEL:  Laguna Niguel Regional Park.  On the 4th of July, a concert will take place at the Crown Valley Park Amphitheater from 6 – 8 p.m.  At 8:15 p.m., join the community in a ¾ mile walk to the Regional Park for a spectacular fireworks display at 9 p.m.  Seating will be on the grass.  Bring a flashlight!  For additional information, call (949) 425-5100.

LAKE FOREST: The Sun and Sail Club.   The club will have a private low-level show shot from a barge on the lake.

MISSION VIEJO:  Mission Viejo Country Club will host a private display this year.

MISSION VIEJO:      Olympiad Road between Marguerite Parkway and Melinda.  The 4th of July Street Faire and Fireworks Spectacular will start at 12 pm.  Admission is free.  Please – No pets, skateboards, roller blades, wheelies, bicycles, or barbeque grills.  Shuttle service will be provided from 12 locations between 1 – 8 p.m.  See a list of stops and a map at www.mvactivities.com.
