The Camp Pendleton Fire Department is battling a fire on the base that originally began as a live-fire training exercise, Camp Pendleton officials confirmed.
The blaze began at around 10:30 a.m. in the Zulu Impact Area of the base. So far, the fire has scorched more than 80 acres, officials said.
Three brush trucks and one water tender are being used by fire crews to fight the active wild-land fire.
Currently, Camp Pendleton officials say no injuries have been reported and the fire does not pose a threat to any structures or communities on the base.
