The CFO of a gourmet popcorn manufacturer has been released from an El Segundo office building and police have taken his alleged captor into custody, according to police.
Police received reports about 8:15 a.m. Tuesday that a female employee entered Popcornopolis located near the 1300 block of El Segundo Boulevard, and told all but one of her coworkers to leave, El Segundo Police Captain Bob Turnbull said.
Shortly after 11 a.m., the CFO -- the highest-ranking employee in the office Tuesday -- was released, according to police.
At 11:31 a.m., the woman exited the building and walked backwards toward police with her hands on her head. She was then taken into custody.
