A $75,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the arrest and prosecution of whoever is responsible for an ambush-style killing that left two people dead in Los Angeles six months ago.

Alex Lara and Teresa Flores were gunned down as they were getting out of their car in the 2400 block of 10th Street (map) on the morning of June 23,  Los Angeles Police Department detectives said.

Lara and Flores were not robbed, detectives said, and they were not affiliated with gangs.

Detectives said they have exhausted all leads in the case and are asking for the public's help to track down whoever opened fire on the couple.

The reward was announced at a press conference Wednesday.

"There's five orphaned children between these two victims," said Lt. Walt Teague of the LAPD. "That's something that we take very seriously, and we're going to pursue this until we find out who did it."
