Los Angeles police officers fatally shot a rifle-wielding man who was barricaded inside a home in Granada Hills, authorities said Tuesday.
The victim, a man in his 60s or 70s, was not identified, police said.
The initial call came in at about 11:10 p.m. Monday. As officers tried to make contact with the subject at the house in the 12700 block of Woodley Avenue, he opened fire. Officers shot back, killing him, according to LAPD Sgt. Jose Valle.
It remained unclear what prompted the standoff. No additional details were released early Tuesday.
