Gunfire killed a man and injured two others in Rialto Sunday evening, police said.
The incident happened shortly after 8 p.m. in the 1100 block of north Willow Avenue, according to Sgt. Richard Royce, with Rialto Police Department.
Two men confronted the victims – all in their 20s – in a courtyard area before shots were fired, Royce said.
Two of the victims were hospitalized with non-life threatening injuries, Royce said. A 28-year-old man was pronounced dead on scene.
Their identities were not immediately released.
Authorities did not have a description of the at-large shooters late Sunday.
Royce said detectives were investigating whether the Rialto shooting is related to another incident 7 miles away in San Bernardino where a man was killed and a homeless woman was injured by gunfire about noon.
