An aerosol can of graffiti cleaner protected a worker from two attackers at a Temecula high school, and police on Friday asked the public for help finding the two men who assaulted the woman.

The victim was removing graffiti from a bathroom wall Tuesday night at Temecula Valley High School when two men busted into the restroom, according to the Riverside County Sheriff’s Department. She told them it was closed for cleaning, but they would not leave.

One of the men then forcefully began pulling on her shirt and belt.

The worker turned the aerosol can of graffiti cleaner away from the wall and toward her attacker – spraying him in the face, authorities said.

Two men ran away in an unknown direction.

Both men are described as between 20 and 25 years old, wearing similar outfits: a red baseball style hat, light-colored shirt, dark pants and red shoes.

One was thin with a goatee on his chin; the other was heavy set.

The attack happened about 8:30 p.m. Tuesday on the south end of Temecula Valley High School’s campus.

Anyone with information in this case is urged to call Sgt. Woods at the Temecula Police Department at 951-696-3000. Citizens can also use this online form to submit tips anonymously.
