Sheriff's investigators on Thursday released surveillance video of a person of interest in connection with the killing of a father of four who was gunned down after leaving his job at a Victorville convenience store.

The video shows a man who was denied entry to an AM/PM where store clerk Daniel Olivera was fatally shot with a single bullet to the chest on Aug. 11.

Investigators said the person of interest pulled up to the store in a white, four-door Toyota Tacoma pickup truck that night. He tried to enter the store about 10 p.m., but was denied entry by a security guard because the store had just closed.

The man tried to force his way in, and that's when an argument began, investigators said.

Olivera came out of the store after seeing the heated confrontation, investigators said. The man then walks back to his pickup truck and appears angry as he drives off.

Olivera stood outside with the security guard about 40 minutes later, out of the view of surveillance cameras, when witnesses reported hearing a single gunshot about that time.

A bullet went through Olivera's body and was never found.

Olivera's family was passing out fliers hoping the public can provide clues to find his killer.

"Any information, please call in," said Olivera's fiancee, Janet Cruz. "I just want justice for my kids' dad."

The person of interest was described as a man about 5-feet-9 with short-cropped hair, wearing a dark shirt and shorts.

Investigators said the white pickup truck had stickers on its back fenders behind the wheels. There was also a white sticket on the back window.

A $10,000 reward was being offered in the case.
