The man accused in the shooting of an Oakland rapper that led to a fiery crash last month on the Las Vegas Strip and a manhunt that ended at a San Fernando Valley residence was scheduled for an extradition hearing Monday morning, but the hearing was postponed.

Ammar Harris, 26, appeared in Los Angeles Superior Court after his arrest Thursday in connection with the Feb. 21 shooting and crash that left three people dead. The hearing Monday was originally intended to determine whether Harris would be extradited to Nevada to face murder charges.

But during his court appearance, Harris (pictured below) requested an identification hearing, which was scheduled for March 14. The hearing means the defendant requested that prosecutors prove his identity to be that of Ammar Harris.

It was not immediately clear who would testify at the hearing, which will be in Los Angeles.

Relatives of one of the victims traveled to Los Angeles for the hearing. Tehran Boldon's brother, Michael, was driving a taxi that exploded in flames after the crash and shooting.

"Mike would always represent our family at any event, and now that responsibility lies on me," said Tehran Boldon. "I have to fill some very big shoes.

"It was very callous. There could have been others any time you discharge a weapon on a public street."

The victim's family would like to see Harris "returned to Las Vegas immediately," Boldon said.

Harris was allegedly driving a black Range Rover sport utility vehicle when he fired at least five rounds into a Maserati after an argument at a casino valet area.

Twenty-seven-year-old rapper Kenneth Wayne Cherry Jr., aka Kenny Clutch, was driving the Maserati when he was shot near Flamingo and Las Vegas Boulevard. Cherry's vehicle then crashed into a taxicab, which exploded, killing the driver and the 48-year-old passenger.

The Strip was closed for about 15 hours during the investigation. The black SUV was located at an apartment complex two days later before Harris' arrest Thursday at a North Hollywood apartment.

Harris is on a no-bail hold until the March 14 hearing, which is also Boldon's birthdate.
