Three men, suspected in a home invasion robbery, were arrested after one of them shot at a deputy during a search that locked down a Pasadena neighborhood for nine hours on Thursday, police said on Saturday.

Three men wearing masks and armed with guns broke into a home on Tuesday at 11 p.m. in the 1900 block of N. Arroyo Boulevard, police said.

Police did not learn of the incident until the following morning when bank personnel called the police department reporting that a woman was at the location reportedly withdrawing money under duress.

The woman was not hurt.

The case culminated in a violent confrontation about noon Thursday when police swarmed a neighborhood in a search for the men.

During the search one of the men allegedly shot at a Los Angeles County Sheriff’s deputy who was working in plainclothes, officials said.

Nobody was injured.

Pasadena police eventually located and arrested three men.

They were identified as Marquis Garrett, 20, of Pasadena; Paul Scott, 31, of Pasadena and Eddie McFadden Jr., 20, of Arcadia.

They were booked into jail on charges of kidnapping for financial gain, police said. Bail for each suspect was set at $1 million.

“The home invasion robbery and attempted murder of a peace officer are violent crimes that necessitate a swift response,” said Pasadena Police Chief Phillip Sanchez.

Anyone with information regard the home invasion robbery is asked to contact the Pasadena Police Department at (626) 744-4241. Individuals with information regarding the attempted murder of the LASD Deputy are asked to contact the LASD at (323) 890-5500.
