Two Los Angeles Police Department detectives were ambushed by a gunman as they arrived to the Wilshire Community Police Station in the Mid-City area on Tuesday, June 25, 2013. The two officers exchanged gunfire with the shooter, who took off. Neither officer was seriously hurt.
