An officer-involved shooting left one person hospitalized in the Pico-Union area near downtown Los Angeles Saturday morning, police said.
Los Angeles Police Department officers answered a robbery call outside a Subway sandwich shop on Pico Boulevard and Albany Street at 2:00 a.m., an officer at LAPD's Rampart Station said.
The gunman was shot at the scene and then taken to a local hospital. His condition is unknown.
Police recovered the man's gun at the scene, the Rampart officer said.
Officers also questioned witnesses who were inside the Subway at the time of the incident.
No officers were hurt.
