A fire charred 42 acres in Riverside County on Saturday afternoon before firefighters quickly contained it, officials said.
The blaze, named the Viper Fire, was first reported at 3:37 p.m. near the intersection of San Timoteo Canyon Road and Viper Road, north of Moreno Valley, according to the Riverside County Fire Department.
About 110 firefighters had the blaze contained at 6 p.m. No injuries were reported and no property was damaged.
The cause of the blaze was under investigation.
