As many as three people were shot in downtown Los Angeles on Monday afternoon, fire officials said.
Paramedics were responding to the 1400 block of West 11th Street (map) – about three blocks west of the Staples Center – after received a 12:30 p.m. about a shooting.
Katherine Main of the Los Angeles Fire Department said as many as three people were wounded at the scene, which is on the other side of the 110 Freeway from central downtown LA.
Two people were transported from the scene to local hospitals, Main said.
A spokesperson with the Los Angeles Police Department had no details about the incident.
The scene is one block from Tenth Street Elementary School.
