The largest kids consignment sale in Southern California is back this weekend, offering a warehouse full of more than 80,000 items, ranging from strollers and swings to clothes and shoes.
LA Kids Consignment will be holding a pre-sale for consignors and volunteers Wednesday from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m. and will open to the public March 14 through March 17 from 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
The event was founded by Kristin Nelson nine years ago. The five-day Burbank event will have more than 700 family consignors participating in the sale of kids’ clothes, toys, bikes, books, furniture and maternity clothes.
Consignors who volunteer to help during the sale will receive 70 percent of the proceeds, and non-volunteer consignors will receive 65 percent.
The unsold items will either be returned to the consigners or donated to charities including the Burbank Temporary Aid Center, Mend Poverty, Pregnancy Resource Center, Family Promise of East San Fernando Valley, The American Cancer Society Discovery Shop and Beyond Shelter.
“About half donate, so about 8,000 items end up going to charity,” Nelson said.
Another sale is scheduled in Valencia with more than 450 consignors for April 18 to April 21, and a May sale in Pasadena and June sale in Torrance will be scheduled at a later date.
This weekend's event will be held at 157 W. Providencia Ave. in Burbank.
