A magnitude 3.2 earthquake struck Southern California just before 8 p.m. Friday.

The quake was centered about two miles southeast of Marina Del Rey at a depth of eight miles, according to the United States Geological Survey.

"We have one of these about this magnitude about once a year and that area, so it's not terribly unexpected," said Elizabeth Cochran of the USGS.

Residents throughout the South Bay felt the quake but there were no initial reports of damage.

One resident in Marina Del Rey told NBC4: “It felt like bus hit the building.”

Another who lives near Los Angeles International Airport said: “The house jumped a little, then swayed side to side.”

NBC4's Angie Crouch was in Santa Monica, where she said she felt “one quick jolt and a little rumble afterwards.”
